For almost 60 years, Park Tavern Bowling & Entertainment Center has been a landmark in the City of St. Louis Park. Proud of our humble beginnings as a 3.2 tavern seating only 50 guests, Park Tavern has now become a dining and entertainment destination with the ability to cater events for up to 500 people.
Our greatest asset has always been having the ability to offer something for everyone regardless of the size of your group or budget. Park Tavern hosts a variety of events including rehearsal dinners, weddings, baby showers, class reunions, small office get-togethers and corporate events. We also offer these services for off-site catering. Park Tavern features weekly events such as bingo, karaoke and Ladies Night. Our 11th Frame bar has become a favorite for guests looking for bar games, darts, pool and more.
“We are proud to be a leader in the industry with a dedicated and hard working staff,” says owner, Phil Weber. “We are in an enviable industry where people come to you to have a good time and forget about life for a while. I’m still thrilled after all these years to still be able to provide that to our community.”

In 1950, land near 52nd Avenue and Wabash Avenue was purchased with the help of donations and proceeds from a play. These funds were used to construct a building for the members of the Johnson-Phelps Post. Completed in 1951 with most of the work done by members, the post officially opened on November 11th during observance of Veteran's Day.
In the following years, the V.F.W. continued its work within the community, and expanded its structure with an addition in 1963. The Hall played an important and tragic role in the 1967 Tornado when the building was used as a temporary morgue to house the victims of the disaster.
The Johnson-Phelps V.F.W., now over 70 years old, has become a landmark in the village and a continual presence among a sea of constant change.
